Drew Ruddy went on to become a well known figure in diving. He was the diver who later located the Bank of Rome safe on the wreck of the Andrea Doria.

These cobalt blue bottles contained castor oil. They were corked and had embossed pewter seals over the corks. All of these were packed in a barrel that was recovered from the port side of the forward cargo hold of the blockade running steamer Georgiana.
