DEMA Show
The Diving Equipment and Marketing Association Expo is an annual, trade-only event for the Diving Industry. This year (2013), its being held in Orlando. If you are a dive shop, dive tour operator, manufacturer, dive service provider, or virtually anyone else in the diving industry, you really should attend. Until you’ve been to a DEMA Show you can have no real idea how important they are to the diving industry. DEMA expos give you an opportunity to see old friends, network with new ones, and see the latest offerings in dive equipment, training and services.
Many of the exhibitors offer special show discounts (even for advance orders to be delivered and paid for at a later date), so plan to do as much ordering as you can.
Don’t forget to save all your receipts (including DEMA registration, hotel, food and travel), since its a trade-only event you should be able to treat it all as business expense.
Seminars are offered, so plan in advance and schedule wisely to take maximum advantage of them.
DEMA shows are always interesting and fun, so be sure to take a couple of your top employees with you, not just for the training, but as a reward for the job they are and will be doing for you.
The Rosen Centre Hotel is this year’s host hotel and is located directly across from the South Hall of the Orange County Convention Center. South Hall is where the exhibits, training sessions and seminars are happening.
If you book in DEMA Show hotel block at the Rosen Centre Hotel you will get free parking, free internet, complimentary access to the Fitness Center, and special hotel restaurant discounts all at the special DEMA Show rate of $165/night*. Reduced priced DEMA hotel block rooms were being offered at the Hilton Orlando; the Days Inn, and the Rosen Inn at Pointe Orlando (different from the Rosen Centre Hotel), but are now sold out. (*plus state and local taxes)
You will find that shuttle bus service is not necessary from the Rosen Centre or the Hilton Orlando, and (for those who booked within the DEMA Show hotel block) there will be free shuttle service to and from the South Hall for both the Days Inn and the Rosen Inn at Pointe Orlando during the Show.
Shipwrecks.com will have a journalist taking pictures throughout the show, so be sure to check back here afterwards to see if you and/or your exhibit appears in our DEMA 2013 slideshow. You can also email us your own photos and explanatory text. We will try to post as many photos as practical. Please submit photos and text via email only. Send them to us at [email protected].
